Those bins of old CDs in the garage…

The kitchen drawer stuffed with plastic cutlery from the drive through…

Unwanted Christmas gifts you feel guilty about discarding…

The giant bin of tangled mystery cords…

Does any of this sound familiar?

Well, we promise you’re not the only one! Modern life is full of stuff conundrums. Many people find themselves drowning in clutter, but are unsure how to make a change. We have worked with many people to get confidently to the other side of these dilemmas so they can feel good in their homes.

home organizing

Wondering what our process is like?

In Acorn & Oak’s home organizing work, we are a goal-oriented presence. We come in ready get our hands dirty (or dusty) as we make over your home. We recognize that letting someone into your space in this way requires a great deal of trust and vulnerability, and we don’t take that lightly.

Our process is tailored to your goals, personality, and budget. Some people who call us are completely overwhelmed and don’t even know where to begin. Others have everything planned out, and just need an extra set of hands and some company. There is room for all of it.

The basic ingredients of a home organizing overhaul are generally the same. We go through all of the items in the space and sort them into keep/donate/sell categories. Depending on the space and your goals, this can take anywhere from a couple of hours to a few months. After that comes the fun part! We make a plan to put the space back together and give every item a designated home.

A tailored blend of hands-on help, practical tips, and emotional support:

  • giving input and feedback on difficult decisions around what goes and what stays

  • labeling boxes

  • moving things where they need to go

  • folding clothes

  • talking about stories and memories attached to your belongings

  • taking photos and writing up descriptions for things you want to sell online

  • suggestions for systems we can implement to manage clutter in the future

Our sessions also include:

  • an initial complimentary consultation call

  • a complimentary donations haul-off at the end of every session, to Goodwill or another donations spot nearby

It’s dynamic work. And it’s always worthwhile.

  • It is a pleasure working with Cornelia at Acorn & Oak Organizing. Cornelia brings a maturity, expertise and a sense of calm to everything she does. I have worked alongside of her and also given her projects to do on her own. Either way, she’s very respectful, knowledgeable & thoughtful when it comes to decluttering and organizing a space. I can give her a project and know that she will get it done properly - checking-in when she has questions- that way I can continue to work while she’s here. I would highly recommend her to anyone could use a more order and less clutter in their lives.

  • I don’t know what I expected with Cornelia, beyond some help making tough decisions. What she actually brought to the process was nothing short of magical. She listened to what various things meant to me, and helped me sort stuff according to categories that would have seemed illogical to anyone else. She didn’t pressure or judge in any way, but more than that, she helped transform my relationship to these objects in ways that were genuinely healing. Cornelia showed up like a real-life Mary Poppins, pulling out whatever we needed from her big tote basket. Colorful tape, label makers, you name it. She found creative ways to use space and translated my vague anxieties into funny labels printed with instructions for my future self.

  • Cornelia works absolute wonders! She’s incredibly patient, super organized, and made such a difference in my home. I’m so glad I hired her to organize all my closets and odds and ends. She created easy-to-follow systems that actually work for me, and she never pushes anything on you. Cornelia is honest, efficient, and won’t waste your time or overbill. What I really loved is how her calm approach makes you feel empowered to start letting go of things you don’t use or wear. She makes the whole process seamless and surprisingly motivating!

  • Cornelia and her team have done an amazing job decluttering and organizing my entire house. She is patient, calm, and non-judgmental. My house was overrun by baby clothes and gear, old papers, and sentimental items. Cornelia has helped me thoughtfully go through each category of item and recommended organizing solutions for the things I want to keep. She also takes a load of donations every time, which is super helpful. My house is finally a functional space!

  • Cornelia is AMAZING! She has such a natural instinct for organizing and is super efficient with her time. She is also incredibly easy to be around and have in your home. I have recommended her to all my friends and family!

  • Cornelia and Kara were life savers for me. They transformed my overstuffed closet garage, and basement! They helped me sort through and get rid of a ton of stuff, took it for donation, and then organized, shelved and labeled the remaining things. They are the kindest ladies and were a true pleasure to work with! Highly recommend to anyone that is looking to organize any space in your home!!!
